As one Ipswich Town player returns from the Abbey Stadium another could be on his way up the A14 to Cambridge on loan.

Lewis Price was recalled from his stay in Cambridge after Shane Supple was forced to rest a heel injury, but Antonio Murray whose father played for Cambridge was linked with a loan move earlier in the season but changes in management put the breaks on that move.

New U’s manager Steve Thompson is good friends with Joe Royle and Willie Donachie

and says he will be calling in favours from his friends in the football world, saying: “I worked with both of them, and Nigel Worthington, so that's the two big local clubs.

“So I will be calling in favours but obviously financial constraints are always prevalent in the league.”
