Garvan Wanting More
Young Ipswich Town midfielder Owen Garvan is amazed with how far he has come since joining Towns academy in the summer.
The 16 year old Irish midfielder was included in the Town squad that beat Brighton 1-0 last month and although he didn’t get on the pitch Garvan wants more.
Garvan: “I couldn't believe it when the boss told me I was on the bench for the Brighton game, it was a bit unreal.
“I only arrived here a few months ago and had been to Portman Road two or three times at most before the game.
“Jim Magilton showed me around the place and when I saw my name and number on my shirt, it was amazing. It was a real buzz.
“I was hoping to get on for the last 10 minutes like Darryl Knights did at Sunderland but it was too tight.
“Now I need to concentrate on working hard in training and in the reserves and hope I get another chance because having had a taste of the first-team, you want more.”
