Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent is reportedly being eyed up by Aston Villa boss David O’Leary for a swoop in January.

Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent is reportedly being eyed up by Aston Villa boss David O’Leary for a swoop in January.

The 20 year old front man is rumoured to be the target of a £4million swoop during the January transfer window, the reports linking Bent who has scored five goals these season for Ipswich with a move the midlands are yet to be denied or confirmed by either Ipswich or Villa.

It is also believed that Bent is only a second option for Villa, there first being Southampton hit man James Beattie, Bent has also been linked with a move to Norwich in the last week.
