Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle is stepping up his search for a loan player to replace striker Darren Bent who could be out for a month.

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle is stepping up his search for a loan player to replace striker Darren Bent who could be out for a month.

Darren returned from duty with the England under 21 side on Thursday bringing with him a tight hamstring which is hoped only to be strain but it may well be a tear, Bent has had scans on the injury and is awaiting the results.

Joe Royle has said: “Bearing in mind Darren's situation I have been making a few calls to see if the players we have asked about before are now available.

“If they are not, then we will go with what we have against Burnley on Saturday and there will be no excuses.”.
