Royle’s Reaction: Donny
Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle is disappointed that Town went out of the carling cup losing 2-0 against Doncaster Rovers last night.
Speaking after the game Royle said: “I was disappointed to lose the game and
even more so in the manner we did.
“A few of our players looked as though
they didn't want to be out there and we ended up being a soft touch against a
team who showed great desire.
“The wind was swirling around, there was big, wide open spaces, a small
crowd and one or two of our players thought it was a bit below them to be there,
I think.
“It taught me a lesson about those players but we will be a lot
better on Saturday against Plymouth.
“Our performance wasn't good enough.
We had plenty of possession but hardly created anything up front.
“It's
disappointing to go out of the competition but having said that, I'm not
devastated that we are out. I'm not sure, with the size of the squad we have,
whether we can afford a Cup run.”.
