Goals from Darren Bent and Tommy Miller were enough to give Ipswich Town a 2-1 against Wolves at Portman Road today.

Goals from Darren Bent and Tommy Miller were enough to give Ipswich Town a 2-1 against Wolves at Portman Road today.

Well where to start? Ipswich could of easily had the game in the bag by half time if it wasn’t for Shefki Kuqi having a complete nightmare of a game and the form of Wolves ‘keeper Paul Jones, who made a number of outstanding saves in both halves to give Wolves any hope at all.

Jones how ever was unable to stop Darren Bent’s header finding the back of the net to give Ipswich the lead.

Town had a few good chances to double the lead before the break, with Tommy Miller’s right footed effort finding the woodwork the rebound finding Kuqi who only found Dave Jones.

Kuqi again failed to find the back of the net just after the restart, hitting the woodwork after Darren Bent put him in.

Kuqi did how ever have a major part to play in Town’s second goal, it was him being fouled by Joleon Lescott inside the box that lead to a penalty being awarded in Town’s favour which Tommy Miller converted, using his right foot and going into the bottom right corner with Dave Jones guessing the wrong way.

Sadly Town’s lead was soon cut back to just one goal, Lee Naylor’s free kick found Olofinjana unmarked inside the box, Olofinjana heading home to make it 2-1 and throw wolves a life line.

It was then Wolves who threw everything at Ipswich for the last 30 minutes or so with Lee Naylor, Olofinjana and Clarke all managing to find the target, but not a way past Kelvin Davis.

Town were 2nd in the table at full time but Stoke City have moved back above Ipswich after beating Derby County this evening.
