Ipswich town chairman David Sheepshanks has dismissed the rumour that Ipswich town had agreed a fee for Darren Bent with Charlton.

Ipswich town chairman David Sheepshanks has dismissed the rumour that Ipswich town had agreed a fee for Darren Bent with Charlton.
Reports in the local press and on the internet hinted that Ipswich and Charlton had agreed a £3million price for Darren Bent before Town changed there mind.
Mr Sheepshanks has said: “Last week Charlton Athletic Football Club made an official approach for Darren Bent.
“Contrary to reports and speculation in the local press, no agreement was at
anytime reached between the clubs.
“An offer was made, given careful
consideration by the Board, and declined.
“There have been no further
discussions since.”.
