Ipswich Town pairing Ian Westlake and Darren Bent have both been named in the England under 21 squad for two games next month.

Ipswich Town pairing Ian Westlake and Darren Bent have both been named in the England under 21 squad for two games next month.

Ian Westlake has yet to play for England at under 21 level but was in the squad along with Matt Richards and Darren Bent for the friendly against the Ukraine earlier this month.

Meanwhile Darren Bent could make his 7th appearance for the under 21 side and maybe add to his 3 goal tally for England. Matt Richards has not been selected for this squad despite making his debut against the Ukraine.

Ian Westlake has said that: “I really enjoyed my time with the U21s against Ukraine and I'm delighted to get another call-up, Peter Taylor is an excellent coach, really positive on the training ground and I'm looking forward to the games.”.
