Scottish football giants Rangers have made an enquiry into the availability of Ipswich Town striker Pablo Couñago.

Couñago was told last week he would be able to leave Portman road on a free transfer after being the 4th choice front man out of four.

Rangers have only 7 days to decide if they want him or not as the transfer window closes until January.

Ipswich Town manager Joe Royle has said that: “We have had an enquiry from Rangers about Pablo but there has been no follow up.

“With the transfer deadline only seven days away, we will know if there is serious interest very soon.”.

With Rangers finishing last season’s SPL in 2nd, along way behind Celtic its understandable that Rangers boss Alex McNeish would like to strengthen his side that won the domestic treble in Scotland the season before last.

Pablo joined from Spanish side Celta Vigo in the summer of 2001 and has scored 31 times in 65 appearances for Ipswich.
