Ipswich town captain Jim Magilton could be back in the Town squad to face Cardiff City at Portman road on Saturday.

Ipswich town captain Jim Magilton could be back in the Town squad to face Cardiff City at Portman road on Saturday.

Jim is going for a scan on his injured thigh later tonight and if the results are what the town staff are hoping for Jim could be training of Thursday and playing on Saturday,

Magilton has said that: “I'm more optimistic than I was at the weekend and we will see how the scan goes tonight, If it's okay then I will train on Tuesday and Wednesday with Simon Thadani and Dave Williams and then hopefully join the other lads on Thursday.

“It's too early to tell about the weekend but I certainly feel that I have got a chance of making it.”.

Ipswich manager Joe Royle added: “Jim would make a difference because he would give us another strong man on the pitch.”.
