Ipswich Town trio Darren Bent, Ian Westlake and Matt Richards have all been called up into the England Under 21 squad for a friendly against the Ukraine next week.

Ipswich Town trio Darren Bent, Ian Westlake and Matt Richards have all been called up into the England Under 21 squad for a friendly against the Ukraine next week.

Darren has already been called up before now for the U21 squad but for Westlake and Richards this the first time they have been included in the squad.

Ian Westlake has said that: “Obviously I am delighted to be named in the squad, especially alongside Rico and Benty.

“It's testament to the hard work that the Academy has put in to the development of young players at the Club and also the coaching we have received at senior level here.”.

Peter Taylor has named 26 players for the game at Middlesbrough’s Riverside stadium next week.

Jason De Vos and Lewis Price have also received calls from their nations in recent weeks.
