Davis Wants Clean Sheets
Ipswich Town goalkeeper Kelvin Davis is hoping for much tighter defence this season along with a few more clean sheets for himself along the way.
Davis who only managed 9 clean sheets in all competitions last season is hoping for a few more this season.
Davis has said that: “We all agree from the front men to the defence that we
need to keep a lot more clean sheets. It was something we were disappointed with
last season, but more than that it was the manner in which we conceded a lot of
those goals.
“Our goals against, not just clean sheets, was not good
enough and we want to improve on that.”.
Davis also believes that the signing of Jason De Vos should go part of the way to solving the leakage in the back four, adding that: “Jason has already shown in pre-season that he doesn't like losing a header and he is a big presence but it is not down to one man, we can all work on keeping the opposition chances down to a minimum.”.
Davis also added: “I don't want to start the season looking to make any
mistakes but I'm a realist and mistakes do happen.
“I try to keep it to
a minimum but let's get halfway through the season and I will give you a target
from there.”.
