Austin In Town Talks

Town have been granted permission to speak to Swindon Town striker Charlie Austin.

The 21-year-old joined the Robins in 2009 and has scored 37 goals in 63 League and Cup appearances.

Austin started his career at Reading but was released due to his small size, he then joined a local non-league side, Thatcham Town, where he scored 73 times in 59 games before moving onto Kinterbury Rangers then Hungerford Town before turning semi-pro with Poole Town before he joined Swindon, in total Austin has scored 178 goals in 215 games.

Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson: "Ipswich Town have come in with an offer that we've accepted, and we've given Charlie permission to go there and talk with them.

"If Charlie does go, then we'll wish him all the best because he's exceeded everyone's expectations and has done fantastically well for us."
