Town midfielder Liam Trotter has extended his stay at Town for another season, rejecting a reported 3-year offer from Scunthorpe United. The 20-year-old midfielder featured in most of Town's games early last season but soon faded away from the first team picture and ended up on-loan at Grimsby and later Scunthorpe, who he helped win promotion back to the Championship.
Trotter: "I spoke to the manager and he said he wanted me to stay here which was obviously a big boost for me, I'll admit I was a bit surprised. At the end of last season I thought I would be moving on from Ipswich. I enjoyed my time at Scunthorpe and their manager wanted me to go there.
"But with a new manager here, it's a fresh start. The manager has said I'll get the chance to show what I can do and that's probably the major factor in me staying. I've not really progressed at Ipswich over the last year or two but this is a new opportunity for me."
