Jim: Give Civelli Time

Town manager Jim Magilton says Town fans will have to wait before seeing the best of new signing Luciano Civelli. The 22-year-old midfielder has joined Town from Argentine side Club Atletico Banfield, who were in the middle of a pre-season break so the left sided midfielder is lacking match fitness.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Luca has looked lively in training and is a natural left footer, a natural left sided player.

"He is a ball carrier and as you would expect from a South American, he has wonderful technique and I'm sure he will prove to be a big asset for this Football Club.

"But he has not played any competitive football for four or five weeks. Banfield wrapped him up in cotton wool so as not to jeopardise the deal. We will need to get games into him as soon as we can to get his match fitness levels up.

"He's also got to adjust to a new country, new surroundings and new team-mates so it's going to take time before we start to see the best of him. It will probably be towards the end of the season before we start to reap the benefits."
