Two goals from Jon Stead were enough to defeat Barnsley at Oakwell earlier tonight and move Town just three points outside the play-off places. Both of Stead's goals came inside the first 10 minutes, the first coming after just 7 minutes when he was in the right place to side-foot David Norris' pass underneath Heinz Muller.
Two minutes later Stead scored his second of the game and his 9th of the season, when Barnsley failed to deal with the ball in the box leaving Stead to fire home from close range.
Daniel Bogdanovic gave Barnsley a life with a goal early in the second half but the homeside never really looked like scoring a second goal.
