Town will be looking to recover from the defeat against Norwich on Sunday with three points against Gary Johnson's Bristol City at Portman Road tonight. Town could be without both Pablo Counago and Jon Walters who are both carrying slight injuries from the East Anglian Derby

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Our lads our hurting and I know when I lost in a derby match I set my stool out to put things right in the following game.

"We must do that on the pitch tomorrow and get the hurt out of our system.

"In this modern game results are everything and a matter of life or death.

"My life will not depend on whether we beat Bristol City and then Cardiff on Saturday in this job.

"I will give everything to get a result in both games and it could be a completely different picture for us on Saturday night.

"At the end of the day it is players that win you games and players that win you promotion. I have every faith in mine."

The Robins will be without Jamie McAllister, Lee Johnson and Dele Adebola who have toe, ankle and leg injuries respectively.

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson says he won't be using the 6-0 defeat his side suffered at Portman Road last year as a motivator tonight, saying: "There were circumstances in that game that led to us losing 6-0, with Bradley Orr's sending-off which led to a penalty and the third goal. Then it was damage limitation.

"We used the revenge line a few weeks later and we beat them at Ashton Gate to get that. I don't think we can use that as a driver tomorrow.

"That 6-0 defeat is best forgotten really and we've got quite a few (players) here now that weren't around when we lost that game.

"The motivation is the chance to go above Ipswich, who are only one point ahead and one place above us in the table."

Match odds:
Town: 10/11
Draw: 5/2
Bristol City: 4/1
