Bruce Offered Deal

Town manager Jim Magilton says he is in the process of talking to Town defender Alex Bruce about the possibility of extending his contract at Portman Road. Bruce was linked with Leeds and Burnley yesterday, although the rumours have been rubbished by all concerned but with a year left on his contract Town manager Jim Magilton has moved to stop any more rumours of a move.

Jim: "Alex is coming into the last year of his contract and we are in discussions with his agent about giving him a new contract. He is a young player who has played more games for me than any other manager and he has done very well.

"If we can come to an agreement we will if we can't then I can't do any more. At the moment he is still part of our plans and is going nowhere."
