Ameobi Deal Dead?

Reports in the North East say that a deal to bring Newcastle United striker Shola Ameobi to Portman Road has collapsed. In the topsy-turvey world of football transfers today at 1pm Town had reportedly bid £3.5 million for the striker, but before 2pm reports started to surface saying that the deal had collapsed.

A deal had reportedly been agreed between Town and Newcastle but Jim Magilton lost patience with the 26-year-old who wants to see if a premiership club will come in for him with Middlesbrough reportedly keen. It appears the only way Ameobi will join Town now is if Newcastle lower their asking price and Town make another attempt to sign him in January when he will have just 6 months left on his contract.
