Former Town defender Fabian Wilnis has been granted a testimonial game to celebrate his 9 and a half years at Town. The 37-year-old defender joined Town in January 1999, meaning he is just 7 months or so short of being at the club for 10 years but has been granted a testimonial after a committee representing Fabian asked the club about the posiblity of staging a game for him.

Town manager Jim Magilton: "Fabian has been a fantastic servant to this Football Club and has to be one of the best signings Ipswich have made, not only has he been a team-mate and player of mine, he's been a friend as well and has been a tremendous ambassador for the Club. He fully deserves his testimonial and I'm sure it will be a success."

Town Chief Executive, Derek Bowden: "A committee representing Fabian have made an official approach to the Club over hosting a game as part of a testimonial year and given his time and service to Ipswich Town, we are happy to oblige."
