Town have moved back into the top 6 of the championship following a 0-0 draw with Queens Park Rangers earlier today. In perhaps one of the most exciting games seen at Portman Road for a few weeks both sides created chances in the opening minutes with Town creating a few more then the visitors.
Danny Haynes had two good chances to score in the opening ten minutes his first clipping the post and his second flying over Lee Camp's bar.
Jason De Vos could have had two goals from corners but Lee Camp was equal to his first effort and De Vos sending his later effort off target.
QPR could have taken the lead twice in the space of about 10 seconds when Rowan Vine's effort was cleared off the line and Hogan Ephraim follow up was blocked by Town's defence.
Haynes was denied by Camp before Owen Garvan's free kick found its way to Haynes who was once again denied by Camp who was going to be in impressive form all afternoon.
Gavin Williams had a great chance to put Town in front just before half time after he was lucky enough to get on the end of a lose ball from Alan Lee but with camp pretty much beaten Williams managed to fire high into the Greene King stand.
The second half started with Michael Mancienne being shown a yellow card for his foul on Alan Quinn. Rowlands replaced Leigertwood 9 minutes into the second half.
QPR fans thought they had taken the lead on the hour mark but Patrick Agyemang's effort found the side netting.
Quinn's free kick was parried by Camp and Lee couldn't make anything of the follow up. Gary Robert's returned to Portman Road when he replaced Gavin Williams on 78 minutes as Town tried to add to their attack and Roberts did trouble camp with a couple of efforts but none of them found the net.
Danny Haynes was booked for kicking the ball away after he had fouled Gavin Mahon. Jordan Rhodes was introduced for the final five minutes and he nearly marked his appearance with a goal from his first touch but his header from Garvan's corner hit the post, Sumulikoski thought he had bundled the ball over the line but the officials disagreed.
