Town defender Richard Naylor has thanked the Town fans that turned out for testimonial at Portman Road earlier today.

Nearly 10,000 Town fans made their way to Portman Road today to watch the modern day Town side play the promotion winning side of 2000 play out a 3-3 draw.

 

Naylor: “I can't thank the fans enough for coming out and supporting me, walking out on to the pitch at the start with my children and receiving the ovation I did was a very special moment for me and something I will never forget.

 

“It was great to see so many of the lads again from the Wembley days and I'm delighted so many of them could make the game.

 

“Scoring the penalty at the end rounded it off perfectly - especially with Shane telling me what way he was going to dive before I took it!

 

“It's been a fantastic day for me at a fantastic football club.”

 

Alan Lee and Gavin Williams gave the current Town side a 2-0 lead before Jermaine Wright and Marcus Stewart levelled the scores before half time, Danny Haynes gave the current side a 3-2 lead before Naylor made it 3-3 from the penalty spot in the 90^th minute.
