Town manager Jim Magilton is looking forward to Town’s game against Lazio at Portman Road on Friday night.

The Italian Serie A side are the final opposition in Town’s pre-season line up and Jim is hoping to field something close to the side that will play against Crystal Palace when the season starts on the 5^th of August.  

 

Jim: “I'm sure Lazio welcomed the news and they will provide glamour opposition for us on Friday might, it's a big test for us but one we will relish and it will be a chance for some players to stake their case for a place in the side against Crystal Palace.

 

“Ideally I would have liked to have played the side I have in mind against Palace but the likes of Owen Garvan, Alan Lee and Gavin Williams are all behind the others in terms of match fitness because of the injuries they have had.

 

“Those three will definitely play though because they need as much football under their belt as possible before the Palace game.”
