Massimo Cellino looks set to appoint Uwe Rosler as the next Leeds United manager, probably behind the back of current head coach Neil Redfearn. Here's a quick guide for everything you need to know about the big German striker.

Uwe Rosler was born in East Germany on 15th Novermber 1968, and made his footballing debut for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig at the age of 19. He was a bit of a footballing nomad racking up 6 clubs in his first 7 years as a professional, all of which were in Germany.

In 1994 he moved to Manchester, where he would stay until 1998. In his four seasons at the club he scored 50 goals in 152 matches, and was the club's top scorer for three of them. He often speaks fondly on his time at Maine Road, and believes his bond with the fans to be unbreakable - stating their singing helped him recover from non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2003. 

After leaving Manchester City in 1998, he returned to his nomadic ways by racking up 6 clubs in 5 seasons before being forced into retirement in 2003 whilst playing for Lillestrøm FK after an x-ray revealed a tumour on his chest.

He made a full and speedy recovery and after taking his coaching badges he returned to Lillestrøm as manager in 2005. He guided the club to two fourth placed finishes in the Norwegian League and two cup finals, but was sacked by the club's board. He then moved to Viking and managed to better his record at Lillestrøm, guiding them to a third placed finish. He left the club in 2009.

In 2010 he took over the reigns at Molde with 8 games to go. With the club staring at relegation he turned their fortunes around, guiding them through an 8 game unbeaten run, doubling their points tally for the season and escaped relegation dramatically.

He left Molde at the end of that season and joined Brentford in 2011. He took them to the play off final in 2013 after missing out on automatic promotion on the final day of the season, when a missed injury time penalty allowed opponents Doncaster to counter and score, securing their promotion spot. Brentford were to be promoted the following year under Mark Warburton, but Brentford player Kevin O'Connor attributed much of the praise to Rosler for their success.

Rosler joined Wigan earlier on in the 2013-14 season and guided the club to the play off semi finals, where they lost to QPR. He also tasted defeat in the FA Cup semi finals after sensationally knocking out his former club Manchester City in the quarters in what was an emotional return for the German.

Rosler was sacked by Wigan Chairman Dave Whelan early on in the 2014-15 campaign as the club had slumped into the relegation zone. Rosler has been out of managerial work since then. 

He is known for playing a high tempo, high pressing style of football. His like for squad rotation means that Leeds' academy players should get some game time should he be appointed.

All in all we don't believe he's a bad appointment. Obviously we'll be gutted to see Redfearn leave should he leave the club, but you never know their could be an assistant manager slot... Doubtful.

Rosler will just have to learn to manage Cellino before he even considers managing the players.
