Adam Pearson returns to Leeds

Adam Pearson has taken over the role of Executive Director at Leeds United to assist Massimo Cellino with the day-to-day running of the club. Pearson leaves Sheffield Wednesday after just one month at Hillsborough.

The whole thing ended in embarrassment for sports marketer Mike Farnan, who was left red in the face and probably drowning in his own tears after his very public statement that Pearson would not go anywhere without him. 

 

 

You've got to feel a little bit sorry for Mike...

The big debate now however, is whether or not this is an exit strategy for Cellino, with Pearson taking over the financial and commercial sides of the club. His wealth of experience at Hull FC, Hull City FC, Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday, plus his previous links to Leeds United having worked at the club until 2001 mean he would be well placed to take over should Cellino choose to leave.

Yet many believe this is a statement of intent from Cellino, that he intends to stick it out for the long run at the club. Cellino told the LUFC website "Adam is coming to be my right-hand man. Since I've been back I've not stopped working and Adam will help me. We plan on having a strong season on and off the pitch."

Nothing is ever calm at Leeds United it seems, and a relatively positive day yesterday seemed to baffle a lot of fans. We're sure this is the calm before some sort of storm...
