Guiseley A.F.C took one step towards the Vanarama Conference North Play-Off Final with a 1-0 over AFC Flyde at Nethermoor Park last night.

The Lions edged closer to the Vanarama Conference after their fourth straight season in the Conference North Play-Offs got off to a solid start at home to AFC Flyde.

The sole goal was scored by right-winger Jake Lawler 32 minutes in. Oli Johnson got on the end of Ryan Toulson's throw-in and dinked a lovely ball back across goal for Lawler to outjump two defenders and head home.

Toulson, Hinchcliffe and Boyes all went close for Guiseley but couldn't convert as AFC Flyde, who narrowly missed out on the title and automatic promotion, began to press for an equaliser. 

The Lions held on to secure a slender 1-0 advantage going into the second-leg at Flyde on Saturday. You can book travel and match tickets for just £12. 

Guiseley fans know all too well the heartache of Play Off defeat after being beaten semi-finalists in the last three seasons as well as losing finalists in 2011, something that will resonate with all Leeds United fans!

Try get down to support the boys if you can, its always good to see an affiliated club do well! (especially after FC Utd of Manchester and Salford got promoted)
