Player ratings from today's 3-1 victory over Bolton, in the eyes of forum regular George.

Given - Only had one save to make, had a few goalkicks or backpasses to deal with, quiet day. 6

Ramage - Not an awful lot to do but linked up well with Solano. 7

Boumsong - Excellent performance, attacked well, defended well, never lost his marker in the whole game. Controlled passing, not a lot to do but his best game in black and white. 7.5

Elliott - Calm performance, distirubtion not great but a steady performance. Maybe could be a regular at CB if he continues this form. 7

Babayaro - Defending looked a little shaky and was poorly positioned for Bolton's goal. Lost out in the air for the goal but attacking wise was superb. Helped Charles attack. 6.5

Solano - This man's hit form, a true legend, fan favourite, technically brilliant and hard working too, why did we ever sell this man? Brilliant goal. 9

Emre - A good game, nice, controlled passing. Assisted Ameobi's goal, good delivery from corners, but mostly impressed by his defensive play. 8

Parker - This is why we all love him at NUFC and Tynetalk. His tackling, workrate, passing and commitment were superb. Ran the game and contributed greatly to our immense possession (62%). MOTM, showed he's at least a class above Nolan. Sven's glasses are not stylish but they also appear to hamper his vision, how can Parker not be in the England squad? 9

N'zogbia - Great performance. Set up Shearer's goal with a superb cross and one or two other good crosses. Ameobi missed a sitter from one of his brilliant passes. 9

Shearer - Didn't do a lot today to be honest but he did score when he got the chance. 7

Ameobi - To be honest he was quite simply awful in the first half and wasn't any good in the 2nd half either but he did score and that's what strikers are paid to do. 6.5

Bowyer - N/A late sub for Emre looked comfortable
Luque - N/A very late sub for Ameobi, got booked for time wasting but showed a touch or two of class.

Roeder - Spot on got everything right, did well not to sub ameobi he was playing badly but roeder kept faith in him and shola repaid him in goals. 10
