Babayaro Red Stands

Newcastle defender Celestine Babayaro’s red card against Aston Villa will stand as his appeal failed. Toon Want Hassan

Babayaro was dismissed in Newcastle’s 2-1 victory over Villa for fouling Milan Baros in the box. Given went on to save the penalty to stop Villa equalising, and consequently, Newcastle won.

 

The Nigerian international will miss the next 2 games; the FA Cup tie against Southampton and the Premiership clash against Charlton.
