CHOMPAZ:

Given 7 - Nowt to do really. 1 questionable attempt at tackling on the half way line which left us up the creek, until bramble cleared.

Ramage 8 - Always looking for the ball; that crossing training seems to be paying off. Had cover from a RM for the first time in a while as well.

Boumsong 7 - Still looks shaky but a much better performance than recently, especially in the air. Passing needs worked on.

Bramble 7.5- Seems to have been told to cut out the 50 yarders and did things easy for a change. Was helped out by Parker, Emre and Solano - looking to collect the ball from the defence. Awareness was a bit suspect on one or two things.

Babayaro 8 - One of his better games for us. Linked well with Emre and N'Zogbia.

Solano 8 - Finally asked to play on the right, and stay there. Can't stress enough how much the width in midfield helped us. Great crosses into the box and good link up with Ramage. Every single corner he took was top class.

Parker 10 - MOTM without a doubt. Gave 110% from start to being subbed. Broke up most of the Pompey attacks through midfield. Came out of all challengs with the ball and linked up excellently with Emre.

Emre 9- Main creative threat. Some of his close control was outstanding. Was looking to go forward first. Some great passing to the wings. All we need is a bit of pace up front - "Dyer??" and we would've had another 2 or 3 today, with his vision.

N'Zogbia 8 - Linked well with Emre and Babayaro. Some top class dribbling and a few good crosses. Great support for his goal. Could've/should've had a penalty late on as well. Still feel that we'll lose a gem in O'Brien though, who should been given the last 20 minutes.

Ameobi 5.5 - And thats only because he managed to clumsly set Shearer away for his goal. Caught offisde about 8 times (clearly compensating for his lack of pace by standing 3 yards past the last line of defence). Whereas everybody else played a positive part in our attacks, he seemed to stop them dead with his first clumsy touch or pass.

Shearer 8 - Battled and won everything against the worse defence than ours. Got his record. LEGEND!!
