On Graeme Souness: 'He gets the blame, but at the end of the day, it is down to the players' - says a friend of the Scot, who was sacked as manager of Newcastle United this week.
The words of Harry Redknapp:
"Graeme is a friend of mine, a fantastic football man for whom I have much respect and I'm sad to see him lose his job there.
"He gets the blame, but at the end of the day, it is down to the players.
"They haven't performed well enough and that's what has cost him his job.
"There's not a more passionate place in the country than Newcastle. The people up there live for their football.
"The players haven't performed and if they suddenly come out and play like men or inspired surely, they have to look at themselves. We'll have to wait and see."
