Midfielder Scott Parker is desperate to play against Spurs today, having sat out Newcastle's Boxing Day clash at Anfield due to suspension (5 yellow cards). Parker was due to make his return against Charlton on Wednesday, although bad weather meant that game was controversially postponed.
Speaking to "Newcastle World TV", part of the Official website, Parker said: "This is normally a very busy time of year for a player - but it hasn't been for me this Christmas!
"I was gutted to miss the Liverpool game through suspension, and I was really looking forward to playing against Charlton.
"We were all disappointed that game was called off because we were dying to get out there and play, but it wasn't to be.
"I'm ready for a game now though, and I'm looking forward to the Tottenham game.
"Hopefully we can go there and give a good account of ourselves, and end the year on a high with a good result."
