Newcastle striker Micheal Chopra has said he is desperate for a goal, which he is yet to get domestically at senior level for Newcastle.
Chopra has scored many for the reserves, and when he has been out on loan at lower division clubs, but he has struggled to find the net in the Premiership.
And on his second Premiership start for
Chopra said:
"It's been almost two years now, and it was nice to get another start. The manager wanted me to try and get in behind them, and I tried to do that. I felt I worked my socks off.
"Every time Alan Shearer went for a header, I tried to gamble. He's always going to win them, and I tried to get past Liam Ridgewell.
"And when I came off he said I'd given what he asked for. It was another chance to show the manager what I can do, as I've been involved quite a lot this season.
"The only thing missing from my game was a goal. I was desperate to get one, especially in front of the home fans.
"I didn't manage it on Saturday, but I've never lost belief in my ability."
