Chopra May Get His Chance

Newcastle striker Micheal Chopra may finally get his chance to make an impression at Newcastle if Alan Shearer is injured on Sunday.

Shearer is struggling with a calf injury and with Shola Ameobi banned, Micheal Chopra will be the only forward who is clear to start against Arsenal.

The 22-year-old has not really had many chances in the first team, with just occasional starts and a handful of substitute appearances to show for years at Newcastle.

Chopra was consistently the top scorer in the reserves, and may have the chance he has always wanted against Arsenal, where he could get his Newcastle career going if he does well.

It all depends, as Shearer may be fit, and Newcastle may have signed Owen by then, but Geordie fans will be urging the local lad on in the capital against Arsenal if he does get his chance.
