Viana to Vigo?

Newcastle United misfit midfielder Hugo Viana is in talks with Spanish club, Celta Vigo, over a possible move.

Newcastle have allowed the 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder to talk to Vigo over a possible move away from St. James’ Park.

Viana was bought for £8.5 million, and has been a huge disappointment on Tyneside. It was reported that Sporting Lisbon were interested, but a deal never materialised.

Newcastle Chairman Freddy Shepherd said:

"Nothing has been agreed. He is in Spain talking to them and we will see what happens."

Newcastle will be hoping to get at least £5 million for the midfielder as it looks unlikely they can get 100% back on him.
