Paddy K makes comments on his time at St James' Park on his personal "ICONS" website. He says he neither had sucess or failure at the club and wishes the manager would have allowed him to play more games.
Speaking on www.icons.com/PK, the former Newacstle played looks back at the time he spent at SJP, commenting: "I always wanted to play in England and in that respect I got my wish. However, if you ask me whether it was a success or failure, I'd say it was probably neither of the two. I had a mixed time at the club."
The player feels his main problem was the lack of matches he was selected for, saying: ”I wish the manager had let me play more matches than I did, so from that point of view my time on Tyneside was disappointing. That was the biggest let down", as the player feels he had alot to offer the club - he just wasn't given the chance to prove himself.
Maybe lack of fitness was Paddy K's problem. On this, the player added: "When I was fully fit, I thought I did well and my goal record in all competitions was slightly better than a goal every other game. It was such a big disappointment to only start 15 Premiership matches last season and I really would have liked to have played more."
So what memories does Klivert have of the club? He said: ”However, I will look back fondly on my goals against Chelsea and Tottenham in the FA Cup, which took Newcastle to the semi-final of the competition. The club's FA Cup journey was one of the highlights of the season, so in that way, I feel I made my mark at St James's Park and made a significant contribution to the team's success."
And did he leave on good terms? ”I left on good terms and I would like to wish the club, the supporters, and particularly the players a great season.”
