Bowyer Court Date Set

Newcastle midfielder Lee Bowyer has been given his court date after an on-field fight with team-mate Kieron Dyer.

The infamous incident was witnessed by 52,000 live and millions others on television, and madwe the back pages of the paper for a week.

 

Bowyer served a lengthy ban from the FA and was fined 6 weeks wages by Newcastle nearer the time of the incident

 

Bowyer will now face a court appearance on the 5th September but no action will be taken against Kieron Dyer who was not seen to have started the fight.

 

A spokeswoman for Newcastle magistrates said:

 

"The case against Lee Bowyer has been listed for summons on September 5 at 10am."
