Prediction League Now Open

As the new season approaches, our prediction league is once again up and running. It was great fun last season, and hopefully will be again this season. Tyne Talk's prediction league is now open. If you were registered last season then there is no need to register again. Just login using the same username and password.

If you have not played previously, you will need to register - it's competely free.

You can predict games as they come, or if you wish, you can predict them all in one go. However, you can change these predictions anytime up until one hour before kick off of the relevant game.

Cup games will be added where relevant.

The Scoring System
For each game you predict on, you can gain up to 5 points as follows:

Correct result - 2 points
(ie, you correctly predict a win, lose or draw)

Correct home team score - 1 point

Correct away team score - 1 point

Correct margin of score - 1 point
(only in conjunction with the correct result - if you predict a 2 goal victory and the team suffers a 2 goal defeat, you don't get any points!)

Example:
Result of a game is 3-1

Prediction Points Explanation
3-1 5 2 points for correct result, 1 point for home score, 1 point for away score, 1 point for correct margin.
3-0 3 2 points for correct result, 1 point for correct home team score.
4-2 3 2 points for correct result, 1 point for correct margin (2 goals).
2-0 2 2 points for correct result.
0-1 1 1 point for correct away score.
3-3 1 1 point for correct home score.
