Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness comments following his sides 3-1 victory to Dubnica in the Intertoto Cup. Speaking to the club's official website, Souness said:
"Our start more or less killed the game.
"We did look a tired team at times but James secured the win with a good finish. At 2-1 they were still in the game so our third goal just took the sting out of the match.
"We're happy to be going home with the win, although it was hard for us playing in such heat against a team full of youthful vigour.
"It was always going to be tricky, but I cannot emphasise enough how important fitness is in these games.
"I was a little nervous coming into the game. It was always going to be a possible banana skin because they have already played four competitive matches this season and we have only been back in training for a fortnight."
