Blackburn Sign Bellamy

Blackburn Rovers have done a fantastic bit of business in signing Welsh striker Craig Bellamy.

Bellamy was expected to join one of the clubs in Europe next season, Everton or Celtic, or maybe Aston Villa who did well in the league.

But due to a good relationship with former Wales manager, Mark Hughes, Bellamy has opted for a move to Blackburn, one of the few clubs to finish beneath Newcastle last season.

Hughes said:

"I think it is a real notice of intent. We've got a player who I feel is one of the best of his type in Europe,"

"He's a player that can take us to the next level, which is what I wanted to do. I'm very excited about the coming season."
