So Far…

Steven Taylor is a product of Newcastle’s Youth Academy and looks like an excellent prospect for the future.

He only made 1 first team appearance in the 2003/2004 season but he is only 19 and has made good progress.

He broke into the first team in the 2004/2005 season where the sale of Woodgate and injury problems forced Graham Souness to play Taylor and he has been in the first team squad ever since.

Taylor prefers to play at centre-back but is available to play at right-back, which is where Souness played him in the 2004/2005 season when Carr was injured to get him some experience. He has also been adapted to play at left-back aswell.

Taylor has played at many international levels for England, including the Under-21’s despite being 19.
