Dyer Contract Talks Start

Newcastle United have revealed that they plan to open contract talks with 26-year-old midfielder, Kieron Dyer

Dyer’s future had been in doubt, after refusing the Captains armband under Bobby Robson’s regime, and then fighting with team-mate Lee Bowyer on the pitch under Souness.

But after been forgiven for the first incident, and not being seen to start the second one, the club have decided they want to keep him at the club.

Souness said:

"Kieron Dyer has another year left and I hope between now and Christmas, he will sign another contract”

"I am sure we can make it happen.

"I have been very happy with him - I see him as a proper player and I have enjoyed working with him. I want to keep him at the club."
