Jebediah's round up of the latest news from the tabloids regarding Newcastle United.

The main stories from todays papers all revolve around the saga of Emre, with some papers taking different views on the situation.

Starting with The Star, they are reporting that the Toon have landed their man. Apparently Emre shook hands on a deal with the club yesterday, however the player's agent would not reveal anything until today. His contract is said to be worth £60,000 p/w to the player. The Sun is going by the same story it seems, with them also claiming that Newcastle have signed the Turkish midfielder.

However, The Mirror took a different stance, merely reporting what the players agent had said yesterday; an announcement will be made today on his future. The Mail did not report anything on the story.

In other news, Aston Villa secretary has not given up the chase for Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy. He claims Bellamy has not rejected them, and they are still in with a shout for his signature.

Finally, The Star says that if ex-Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson goes back in to management he will employ John Carver, recently sacked as academy manager, as his number two. He is said to think highly of Carver, and would get him back in to work straight away if the situation arose.
