With Celtic having failed to turn his loan move into a permanent transfer, Welsh striker Craig Bellamy will be reporiting back to Newcastle for pre-season training on July 4th. Having publically fallen out with Newcastle boss Graeme Souness, it wouldn't be surprising if Bellamy did not play again for Newcastle, but with Patrick Kluivert having already left St James' Park, chairman Freddy Shepherd has hinted that something could we worked out, although does admit that Souness will have the final say.

Bellamy has said that he WILL report for pre-season training on July 4th, and WILL make himself available for selection.. unless he recieves instructions not to.

Alan Shearer and Shola Ameobi look likely to lead the Magpies' attack this coming season, although several strikers have been linked with the Tyneside club including Mark Viduka, who is out of favour at the Riverside.
