Graeme Souness has denied charges against him dating back to the 7th of May of bringing the game into disrepute or failing to act in the best interests if the game (FA Rule E3) yet he refused to request a personal hearing.
This may come as a surprise to many fans who have seen Souness many a times getting into trouble for things he has or hasn’t said after a heated match.
Our outspoken manager hasn’t always remained silent, previously he did take up a personal hearing when he believed the referee was in the wrong in the match against Fulham however he failed to turn up and indeed was fined £10,000 for it.
Referee Barry Knight was the man in charge against Villa then our boys decided to fight it out on the pitch … between themselves. It would appear that Souness had this incident in the back of his mind when we next came under the ruling of Knight against Everton.
“The referee was apologising to some of our lads before the game for the penalty he gave in that Aston Villa match,
It was outside the box and he said that.
Mr Knight escaped without any criticism that day and this time he has given a free kick to Everton that wasn’t and it changed the game. We feel hard done by again because of Mr Knight.”
