Villa Agree Fee for Toon Duo

Aston Villa Chairman Doug Ellis has confirmed the club have had a bid for Craig Bellamy and Aaron Hughes accepted by Newcastle.

Craig Bellamy looks set to leave Newcastle after a bust-up with Graham Souness but not many fans expected their all-round defender and midfielder if necessary, Aaron Hughes to be leaving aswell.

Doug Ellis said:

“I have spoken with Freddy Shepherd, the Newcastle Chairman on several occasions in the last 48 hours and last night he accepted our cash offer for both players”
