Newcastle midfielder Kieron Dyer is at war with Manager Graham Souness.

Graham Souness cancelled the Newcastle Christmas Party but what really made Dyer angry is that the Scot has ordered his team to stay on Tyneside this Christmas.

This is frustrating for the England-midfielder as he was planning to spend Christmas with his 4-year-old son, Kie.

The toddler lives in Ipswich with Mum, Josie, Dyer’s former-girlfriend and although the couple are no longer together, Dyer is keen to be a real Dad.

Dyer has struggled at Newcastle. He was plagued with injuries early in his Toon career but then the infamous fall-out with manager Sir Bobby Robson and refusing the captains armband lost him the respect of the fans and made it a hard-life on Tyneside.

Dyer has started completion work on his house in Ipswich and is hoping that Arsenal or Chelsea will come in for him in January.

It seems certain Dyer will leave in the transfer window, but where is the question.

Souness admitted he liked the style of Dyer but after receiving orders from Chairman, Freddy Shepherd he must sell if a decent offer comes in.

The most likely transfer seemed to be a move to Inter Milan but in light of Dyer’s longing to see his son, Italy may not appeal to him.
