Graeme Souness has confirmed that he recieved a letter of complaint from the Ritz Hotel in London, regarding the behaviour of a group of his players. It was understood that several Newcastle players (reportedly including Craig Bellamy and Patrick Kluivert) upset members of staff with unruly behaviour.

Chairman Freddy Shepherd denied the claims, saying: "I have received no letter of complaint from the Ritz."

But, speaking after the Liverpool game, Souness confirmed: "I received that letter, and I am not going to tell anyone what was in it.

"They are boys, it was their day off and I am not going to comment on it further."
