Jack Norris brings us player ratings from Saturday's Premiership clash at St James' Park in which Newcastle took on Blackburn Rovers. The Toon came out 3-0 winners, but how did individuals perform?

Starting 11

Given: 7.5: Didnt have much to do, didnt look like he was going to be beaten either.

Carr: 5: In my opinion his worst game for newcastle, he wasnt that bad but he was bad compared with others.

O'Brien: 8.5: From where i sat looked like a strikers finish for the goal with a great turn, strong at the back aswell.

Elliot: 7.5: If i remember correctly made one mistake which could have been costly, other than that a good peformance.

Hughes: 8.5: Great strong peformace got up and down the left wing all day.

Dyer: 7: Showed abit of bite and some good tackles, also made some great runs.. Still not a great peformance, wasnt there at all in the second half.

Bowyer: 9.5: Showed why he should be first on the team sheet and why dyer should never be played in the centre again, deserved atleast one goal today and played great, some great tackles to.

Jenas: 7.5: Played better in the second half, but sometimes got caught in possesion, some decnt threw balls though.

Robert: 9.5: Was great, battled back, snapped the mackem a few times and showed aggression, his delivery was 2nd to none and his free kick in the first half was unlucky and just wide.

Bellamy: 8: First half was great again, his pace causes defences to many problems, and he has great vision and slid threw some good balls, one in which bowyer could have scored.

Shearer: 8: Was strong held ball up well, won most of the battles in the air, and some good flick-ons.


Subs

Ameobi (for Bellamy): 7.5 : Caused problems, and looked like he had a good chance within 2 mins of coming on.

Milner (for Dyer): 6 : Didnt have much time to get on the ball.

Kluivert (or was it N'Zogbia) (for Robert): 1 : lol didnt get a touch, but the 1 is for making 1 run

3/10 - 3 big claims for penalties, wasnt good throughout the game.. it seems like theres one rule against alan shearer and theres a rule for everyone else..

Away Fans

7/10 - for the 20 fans standing all game.. some funny chants, not really any different though.. " Stand up if youve won the premier league"... "sit down if youve won fuuck all"

Geordie Faithful

7/10.. Still quiet but not as quiet as the first 2 home games.
