For all those who jumped nobly to the defence of poor ickle Kieron on Saturday, refresh your memories with this timeline of Kieron's Toon career(note no on-pitch heroics to speak of).
From the Sunday Sun:
JULY: Signs for Newcastle United.
JUNE: Appears in sex video shot in Ayia Napa, Cyprus, with fellow footballers Rio Ferdinand and Frank Lampard. Sir Bobby Robson dishes out stern warning.
JUNE: Suffers minor facial injuries after being attacked in an Ipswich nightclub.
OCTOBER: Childhood sweetheart Josie Jefferson gives birth to son Keir. Dyer continues to be linked with a string of women, including Page Three girl Leilani Dowding.
NOVEMBER: Speaks to police after legal clerk Rhaynor Gibbs, 22, breaks an arm after allegedly being pushed from back seat of a car in which Dyer was a front seat passenger. No action was taken after the probe.
MARCH: Questioned by police after woman claims she was assaulted by another woman in the back of his car.
APRIL: A man is taken to hospital after an accident between his Vauxhall Cavalier and Dyer's £50,000 Mercedes S500 as the player travelled to United's training ground in Chester-le-Street, County Durham.
JULY: Handed two-month driving ban and £1000 fine for doing 104mph. He said he had been distracted by news of Tiger Woods winning US Open.
NOVEMBER: Sent home in disgrace from a Newcastle United club trip to Spain after snubbing dinner in honour of club president John Hall. Reportedly fined £50,000 by the club.
NOVEMBER: Fined £60 and given three points for speeding.
DECEMBER: Lucky to escape unhurt after hitting the Swing Bridge when his £103,000 Ferrari spun out of control two days before Christmas.
DECEMBER: Fined £500 and given six points by magistrates in Lincolnshire after doing 80mph on a temporary 50mph stretch of the A1.
MAY: Handed six-month driving ban, three penalty points and £1500 fine after clocking up fourth speeding offence in two years.
SEPTEMBER: Forced to make statement denying involvement in alleged rape of 17-year-old girl at Grosvenor House hotel in London. No charges brought against any players after the infamous "roasting" allegations.
AUGUST: Booed by England fans and forced* to apologise for refusing to play on wing for Newcastle against Boro.
*Forced being the key word here, as he only apologised after Chairman Freddy Sheperd threatend to fine him two weeks' wages and transfer list him.
Given his unarguably poor performances over the last couple of seasons (1 Premiership goal last season, 2 the year before) to add to his disgraceful off-pitch behaviour, and his frequent and ill-advised appearances on programmes such as Channel 4's 'Football Diaries' and the like, anyone who decided to boo Dyer on Wednesday or Saturday was well within their rights.
Anyone who shouted at them or accused them of being bad fans was not, and should remember not only last weekend against Boro where he refused to play, ignored Robson's touchline instructions and then refused the captain's armband, but all the other blots on his copybook, above. Personally, I didn't boo him or applaud him, but I want him out of the club.
