Carr Signs 4-Year Deal

Newcastle United have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur's Stephen Carr. The Republic of Ireland right-back has signed a four-year deal.

The 27-year-old cost Sir Bobby just £2m.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, Carr said:

"I am very excited about joining Newcastle"

At the beginning of the summer we 'heard' that we would have £8m to spend on players,

Total of £8.1m - so, it was true, and I think we've done pretty well for it (especially as you think Birmingham paid £6.5m for Heskey)
